sagepay.gifOn April 21st 2009, Protx, a division of Sage UK, rebranded to be known as Sage Pay. The only visible changes you will notice is a new website style and a new logo. Everything else is the same - if not better. Better support, better security and even better fraud-prevention measures. Protx was the largest Payment Service Provider (PSP) in the UK, along with the rebranding, Sage Pay looks to become the market leader and offer you added security and peace of mind that your payment details are 100% secure. All of our online payments will be handled by Sage Pay for your added convenience, so that there is no difference (except the new website style) in processing your payment than the old Protx payment pages.

How Protx Sage Pay Payments Work

Customer adds items to shopping cart Top: Customer details sent to Sage Pay. Bottom: Payment confirmation sent to customer Sage Pay capture your payment details Top: Sage Pay securely sends payment details to our bank Bottom: Our bank confirms payment has been taken for Sage Pay Receives payment details from Sage Pay and processes the card details for payment into our bank account

1) The customer selects the goods they wish to purchase and enters their order and delivery details.
2) The customer's credit card details are captured securely by Protx Sage Pay.
3) The credit card details are securely transmitted to the merchant's bank.
4) The merchant bank sends the credit card details to the customer's card issuer who authorises or declines the transaction.
5) The merchant bank then sends the transaction results back to Protx Sage Pay.
6) Protx Sage Pay sends the authorisation results to the customer and the merchant to confirm the results of the transaction. The entire process takes 2-3 seconds to complete.

The checkout page hangs/crashes

How do I know if my payment has gone through?

When you pay for your order you will be sent to either a successful payment page or a failed payment page on the Protx Sage Pay site. You should print a copy of the Receipt page once a successful payment is taken. You may also receive a confirmation email from the Protx Sage Pay system which confirms the status of your transaction. If you are in doubt about the status of your order, please with all the relevant details and one of our team will be able to advise you of your order status.

I received an error code, what do I do?

If you receive an error code during the transaction process, please email this code to and they will advise you on a solution. At times Protx Sage Pay Support can be delayed and therefore it is advised to contact us by telephone or e-mail as we can identify the payment issue.

My credit card has been rejected by your system as it is the wrong length/incorrect

The Protx Sage Pay payment system will detect and reject any card number which is incorrectly formatted. If you believe that the Protx Sage Pay system should accept the details you are entering, please contact us and we can process your payment manually via Streamline.

How do I know my details are secure?

Payments Secured by GeoTrustProtx Sage Pay is audited by an independent auditor on a regular basis to ensure that they comply with the latest security standards set out by Visa and MasterCard. If you have processed your order online using the Protx Sage Pay payment pages, please locate and click on the padlock image which can be found on the Protx payment pages to confirm that your details are collected in a secure environment. The padlock is located in a different area of the payment page screen depending on the internet browser you are using - it can normally be found in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, at the top of the screen next to (or inside) the address bar or at the very top right hand corner of the screen. This padlock shows that your details are collected using 128 bit SSL technology. Once you have entered your card details, Protx Sage Pay will securely send these details to the bank to be authorised. This is a completely secure process and we ensure that your details cannot be accessed by a third party.
